It all depends on where the battery percentage stood when the charging began. Plugging in your MacBook and completely recharging the battery doesn’t necessarily count as a full cycle.
When those cycles are exhausted, the time comes to replace the battery. Batteries are only useful for a limited number of cycles. One measure of battery life is a cycle count.
Continue to use it like that until you have time to get the battery replaced. Your MacBook will continue to work as long as it’s plugged in. Even with a completely exhausted battery, all is not lost. Until it completely dies, the battery will start giving off a sure sign things aren’t well they’ll be less time between a full and empty charge. A MacBook battery is expected to last three to four years during regular use.
